The UK National Drum Fair and Redditch Palace Theatre announce their fourth drum clinic hosted by Matt Green from the UK National Drum Fair, in the Palace Studio with special guest drummer Ed Freitas.
There will also be a chance of a deserving local player to join the clinic via an open audition held a few weeks before. Known for his relentless energy and passion for music, Ed's personality and approach is infectious, inspiring and motivating. These attributes together with his skillset as a multi-instrumentalist have led him to work globally in numerous facets of the industry, most notably as an independent artist, session artist, clinician, facilitator, presenting masterclasses and performing with his unique 'circular' signature rig. Also often referred to as Cybadrummer or Cyba-X, Ed energises crowds whenever he performs, from large festivals to stadiums, clubs and venues around the world.
Ed has been drumming since the early age of 6, but as an example of his busy schedule, between 2007-2017 alone he has performed live, delivered workshops and clinics over 2000 times to audiences in over 40 countries. In performing at drum clinics, he toured or shared the stage with hundreds of artists/drummers with the likes of Zoro (Lenny Kravitz, Bobby Brown etc), Tommy Aldridge (Whitesnake, Ozzy Osbourne), Jerry Brown (Girls Aloud, Will Young etc), Terl Bryant (John Paul Jones etc), Gregg Bissonette (David Lee Roth etc), Raul D'Oliveira (Elton, Wham etc) and many other top guests and performers. He is also an in demand session drummer for charting artists worldwide.
Matt Green is one of the UK's most versatile percussionists. He has emerged himself in all aspects of percussion and plays all range of music, from Baroque to Rock. Matthew often performs as a guest soloist with different groups, premier Big Bands and Jazz ensembles in and around the Midlands/London and in the studio recording for rock/pop artists. Matthew’s passion for world music which has lead him to work with such artists as Ravi Shankar, collaborating between Eastern and Western musicians, UK’s leading nasheed group SHAAM and on the west coast of Ireland's folk scene. Matt's very popular workshops/clinics are both educational and inspiring.
