The UK National Drum Fair and Redditch Palace Theatre are proud to announce an exciting new drumming event.
Starting May 2017, there will be a monthly drum clinic hosted by Matt Green from the UK National Drum Fair, they will be inviting some of the UK's top drumming talent to perform at The Studio, Palace Theatre, Redditch.
There will also be a chance of a deserving local player every month to join the clinic via an open audition held a few weeks before. Matt Green is one of the UK's most versatile percussionist. He has emerged himself in all aspects of percussion and plays all range of music, from Baroque to Rock. Matthew often performs as a guest soloist with different groups, premier Big Bands and Jazz ensembles in and around the Midlands/London and in the studio recording for rock/pop artists. Matthew’s passion for world music which has lead him to work with such artists as Ravi Shankar, collaborating between Eastern and Western musicians, UK’s leading nasheed group SHAAM and on the west coast of Ireland's folk scene. Matt's very popular workshops/clinics are both educational and inspiring.
Ian Palmer is one of the most naturally talented drummers of his generation. Throughout his formative years of playing drums, Ian spent most of his time in the United States where he divided his time between both New York and Los Angeles. It was in the States that he studied with two legendary innovators of modern drumming, Joe Morello and Peter Erskine. Ian is a passionate drummer and through his relationship with Zildjian Cymbals, Yamaha Drums, Vic Firth drumsticks and Remo drumheads has conducted solo performances on nearly every continent. Ian has performed alongside legendary drummers Terry Bozzio, Thomas Lang, Ian Paice, Dom Famularo, Steve Smith and Jeff Porcaro.
